Brush the mustard coating all over the top and sides of the meat and roast for about 1 1/2 hours longer, rotating the roasting. Preheat oven to 500 degrees.

Remove the meat from the oven and reduce the temperature to 350°.

Roast beef recipe food network. Set aside for 20 minutes. If desired, trim off excess fat from roast beef. 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper.

Roast beef for 5 minutes per pound. In a small bowl, mix together the onion and 1 tablespoon of the salt. Drain and squeeze to remove excess liquid.

Rinse the onions with cold running water. Place meat in roasting pan in preheated oven. Rub meat with vegetable oil.

Season with salt and pepper (and paprika, if desired).
